Call for Artist Entries: Range

 

The Edward J. & Helen Jane Morrison Gallery at the University of Minnesota Morris is pleased to announce a call for entries for a summer exhibition: “Range” (June 6 – June 30, 2017).

The exhibition will be held in conjunction with the Rural Arts and Culture Summit hosted by Springboard for the Arts and The Center for Small Towns at the University of Minnesota, Morris, June 6-8, 2017. The exhibit seeks submissions from contemporary artists who currently reside in rural areas and/or whose work reflects the rural spirit, especially as it pertains to the notion of “Range”. The exhibit will survey artists working in all manner of mediums and subject matter. The exhibit will be held at the Edward J. and Helen Jane Morrison Gallery on the University of Minnesota, Morris campus, June 6 – June 30, 2017. Artists, photographers, designers, craftspeople and creatives regardless of age, gender identity, race, and occupation are encouraged to submit. There is no entry fee. Past and current participants of the Summit are encouraged to apply.

The Exhibition will open on June 6, 2017 from 6:30 -9:30pm, in conjunction with the welcome reception for the Rural Arts and Cultural Summit.

Selected Artists will be responsible for all shipping/delivery costs before and at the conclusion of the exhibition. Shipped work must include pre-paid, return postage.

The mission of the Morrison Gallery is to provide a dynamic and accessible venue that supports the educational, cultural and artistic experiences of students, faculty, and the community. The gallery promotes diverse cultural and personal perspectives in both innovative and traditional art exhibitions linking our community with the global art world

ENTRY GUIDELINES:

  1. Deadline for Submissions is April 1, 2017
  2. Please begin by filling out the online submission form.
  3. 3 – 5 digital images will need to be uploaded to through the online form. Images will need to be saved in a JPEG format (.jpg) at 72 pixels per inch (ppi) with no more than 1920 pixels along the longest dimension of the image. Each file should be labeled with the artist’s last name followed by a period, first initial, underscore, and number, for example: SMITH.J_1.jpg, SMITH.J_2.jpg, etc. Images.
  4. Artist statement must be uploaded in PDF or Word format (one-page)
  5. Optional resume or biographical summary can be uploaded in PDF or Word format (two-page maximum)
  6. Artists with accepted work will be notified by April 15, 2017 with additional exhibition information.
